Fredericton, NB, Canada— CARIS, developer of marine and hydrographic software, announced that Horst Hecht has joined the team as Senior Scientific Advisor.
Hecht recently retired as Head of the Department of Nautical Hydrography and Vice-President of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency of Germany (BSH). Well known and respected in the international hydrographic community, Hecht has participated in several working groups and committees of the International Hydrographic Organisation. He is particularly experienced in the fields of ECDIS, ENC and Marine Spatial Data Infrastructures.
In his capacity as Senior Scientific Advisor, Hecht will provide counsel in the development of the company’s current and next generation of marine and hydrographic software being readied for the marketplace.
