3 Minutes Read

Geospatial World Forum is proud to confirm Hexagon’s attendance at Geospatial World Forum 2022 (GWF2022) as a Corporate Sponsor. Hexagon, a global leader in digital reality solutions combining sensor, software and autonomous technologies, will be onsite showcasing how its digital reality solutions connect vast business ecosystems, transform entire industries and empower people everywhere to make faster and better-informed decisions to address our planet’s most pressing challenges.

The in-person event is taking place from 9-12, May 2022 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Hexagon speakers from the company’s Autonomy & Positioning and Geosystems divisions will explore various aspects of the general theme “Geography & Humanity” of the Geospatial World Forum 2022, which will trace the historical relevance of the geospatial profession, depict its current value and set the tone for future direction.

Hexagon Executive Vice President Jürgen Dold will deliver a keynote presentation, showcasing Hexagon’s ability to quickly and economically create Smart Digital Realities that will deliver on the promise of the metaverse where the physical space matters. Vice President Geospatial Content Solutions (GCS) for Hexagon’s Geosystems division, Simon Musäus, will present new and more efficient business models for acquiring precision geospatial content for land administration. Senior VP Visual Computing at Hexagon, Frank Suykens, will zoom in on semantics and AI for Smart Digital Realities.

Discussions at the event will also revolve around the role of geospatial in promoting sustainability of the environment, society and the economy. Two sessions in particular speak to these sustainability efforts: Miguel Amor, Chief Marketing Officer of Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division, joins the panel “Keynote in National Mapping” to explain the necessity of actively protecting positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) infrastructure from interference, jamming and spoofing in order to avoid the economic, social and environmental costs of a major disruption. James Szabo, Agriculture Autonomy Product Manager at Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division, presents unmanned and fully autonomous solutions as key to increased efficiency in the field – from lower emissions to higher crop yields – and Szabo explores the technologies enabling the next level of sustainability in precision agriculture.

“We are humbled by the continuous trust Hexagon places in our team and are privileged to join hands again in our common goal to transform the geospatial industry. With support from industry leaders like Hexagon, we are excited and very much looking forward to bringing Geospatial World Forum to another new height,” says Annu Negi, Senior Vice President, GW Events.
