September 19, 2002 Grizzli Mobile Systems has selected Webraska, to integrate and deploy real-time navigation applications in their suite of productivity improvement solutions.
The new Grizzli-Webraska combined offering enables fleet managers from the distribution industry to increase driver productivity by sending them destination addresses from Grizzli’s delivery route optimization software. Destination addresses are automatically used by the in-vehicle navigation application to provide real-time graphical and vocal navigation instructions to drivers seeking pick-up and delivery sites. The navigation applications have been developed by Webraska using Internet based Distributed Navigation (IbDN). IbDN is the company’s wireless navigation technology, patented in 16 European countries and in the United-States. IbDN technology, available as a Software Development Kit (SDK) allows easy integration and deployment of wireless navigation functionality into existing professional applications. The IbDN SDK is available for Windows, QNX, VXWorks and Java OSGI embedded and mobile platforms.
The new Grizzli offering combining delivery round management, vehicle and driver data collection and transfer, plus real-time navigation will be deployed on a first fleet of 150 vehicles by the end of September. One thousand additional vehicles will be equipped before the year-end.
