Google and LG Electronics to provide pre-installed Google services on mobile phones

Seol, Korea, 28 March 2007: On Wednesday, Seoul, Korea – based provider of advanced wireless handsets and accessories L.G. Electronics and Mountain view, California – based search solutions provider Google announced a global collaboration to pre-install Google’s services on LG mobile phones. The joint statement noted that the new feature would allow users to easily search for information, find locations, update blogs and manage e-mail while on the move. At least ten new handsets would be marketed with the new Google features in North America, Europe and Asia.

The features include Google Maps for mobile that enables to view maps and satellite imagery, find local businesses and get driving directions and Gmail for mobile, a java based application with more speed, convenience and functionality. In addition, the users can have Blogger Mobile, which helps upload or download images and text to blog from mobile devices.

Commenting on the launch of new feature, Paul Bae, Vice President of Product Planning Team at LG Electronics Mobile Communications said, “LG’s mobile devices, combined with Google, will provide consumers with easy access to their favorite Internet services even without a PC and make it easy for them to stay connected while in motion.”
