GITA awarded grant from IGIC

< 1 Minute Read

Aurora, USA, 27 June 2007: The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) has announced that the Iowa Geographic Information Council (IGIC) has awarded GITA a โ€œBusiness Planning Services for a State Spatial Data Infrastructure in Iowaโ€ grant.

With guidance from the Federal Geographic Data Committeeโ€™s (FGDC) Fifty States Initiative, GITA will help provide a return on investment business case for the Iowa Geospatial Infrastructureโ€”the stateโ€™s contribution to the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).

The methodology that GITAโ€™s Research Division created for its previous ROI work stems from three yearโ€™s worth of comprehensive research, analysis, and case studies. The GITA ROI Team plans to adapt that methodology for IGICโ€™s needs.
