Saudi Arabia: Estonian company Regio which develops GIS has created a mobile positioning solution in Saudi Arabia that will assist pilgrims in reaching Mecca.
According to the company, a Pakistani organiser for the Hajj turned to Regio a month ago for such a solution.
“We were able to launch the application extremely quickly – in just a few weeks,” said Regio CEO Ülo Säre.
“What”s unique is that until now we have marketed our products to other countries through Ericsson, but the current project was carried out independently,” Säre said.
During the project, the company will position the movement of 90,000 pilgrims.
