Bulgaria: CEZ Distribution has invested over BGN 430,000 in a pilot project for detailed gathering and processing data of energy facilities in Western Bulgaria. “The pilot project we launched almost a year ago is part of a strategic initiative of CEZ Distribution Bulgaria to create a GIS. Due to GIS system CEZ teams will be able to react quickly in crisis situations,” said Stefan Apostolov, Executive Director of CEZ Distribution Bulgaria.
The GIS system supports the operation of the various departments of the CEZ group in Bulgaria by providing coordinated and structure information. In 2010, CEZ Distribution Bulgaria received an award for high achievements in applying innovative GIS in the area of engineering infrastructure and transport.
