UK: The United Kingdom’s National Grid has completed tunnelling on its ambitious London Power Tunnels project, which aims to help the country’s capital keep up with rising electricity demand. Let us now apprise you with the technologies the power transmission network used in the project. Leica Geosystems’ Nova MS50 MultiStation was used to scan the tunnels and Amberg Technologies’ TMS Tunnelscan software processed the data generated. It should be noted that the Nova MS50 combines scanning, total station, imaging and GNSS positioning in one instrument. The TMS software allows for exact surveying of a wide array of critical aspects, such as the tunnel profile and complete analysis and documentation of the tunnel structure.
