The ceremony took place on January 23rd, at Geospatial World Forum 2017, in Hyderabad, India. Dr Johannes Riegl, Founder and CEO, RIEGL, has been felicitated with โLifetime Achievementโ award. Johannes has made significant contributions in the fields of scientific research, education, technology innovation, product development, and entrepreneurial leadership. The award was presented by Dr. Swarna Subba Rao, Surveyor General, Survey of India.
Rolando Ocampo Alcรกntar, Vice President of Mexicoโs INEGI, has won โGeospatial Ambassador of the Yearโ award. Rolando also serves as the co-chair of UN-GGIM and the chair for the Regional Committee of UN on Global Geospatial Information Management for the Americas.
