GEODAN, SPINLAB, and Geospatial Media and Communications have announced a strategic partnership to jointly organize their two flagship events Geodesign Summit Europe and GeoBIM Europe.

Amsterdam: Leading geo-ICT consulting firm, GEODAN, SPINLAB, the centre for research and education in geo-information science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and Geospatial Media and Communications have announced a strategic partnership to jointly organize their two flagship events Geodesign Summit Europe and GeoBIM Europe. The event, branded as Geo|Design+BIM, is scheduled to take place from November 23-24, 2017, in Novotel Amsterdam City, The Netherlands.

Geo|Design+BIM will highlight and initiate discussions related to geospatial-enablement within the architecture, engineering, construction and owner-operated (AECO) industry. The 2-day programme, consisting of panel discussions, technical sessions and workshops, will facilitate conversations on the future of geospatial-enabled design and building information modelling (BIM) in planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of an asset.

Henk Scholten, CEO, Geodan & Director of SPINLAB said, “We are more than happy that after four years of Geodesign Summit, we are moving a step further by cooperating with the GeoBIM community and with Geospatial Media who we have already know for many years now.”

“We are pleased and honoured to venture into this partnership with Geodan and the Vrije Universiteit as we believe both GeoBIM and Geodesign Summit carry similar objective of promoting collaboration and digital innovation within the AECO industry. Geo|Design+BIM will be another milestone for Geospatial Media and Communications to raise the profile of geospatial industry in world economy and society,” said Annu Negi, Chief Operating Officer, Geospatial Media and Communications.

Geo|Design+BIM is expected to be attended by over 300 professionals from the geospatial and AECO industries, including policy-makers, professional bodies and scientific community. Details of the conference can be accessed at www.geo-bim.org/Europe.

About Geodesign Summit Europe

Initiated in 2013, Geodesign Summit Europe was inspired by the Esri Geodesign Summit held annually in Redlands, California. Attended by over 200 designers, decision-makers, scientists, and students from 20 countries, the summit focused on geodesign frameworks and concepts, geospatial technologies that support geodesign and decision-making.

About GeoBIM Europe

GeoBIM Europe is the leading industry-outreach initiative, which serves as a platform for geospatial community to interact closely with planners, architects, engineers, builders, building owners and operators; and discuss the potential and challenges of geospatial and BIM integration in Europe. Initiated in 2014, GeoBIM Europe receives in average 200 participants from 20 countries, mainly from the geospatial and AECO industries.
