High Desert Geo-Technologies, Inc., a Bend, Oregon, company that specializes in custom GIS solutions and services for property, asset, and land management, has been bought by GeoEngineers, a national earth science and technology company based in Redmond, Washington. Terms of the sale, which took effect on February 1, 2006, were not disclosed. The Bend company will become GeoEngineers’ 14th office. The High Desert staff will remain as part of GeoEngineers.
The acquisition adds significant talent and experience to the Applied Technology
Group within GeoEngineers whose clients include major ports (such as the Ports of
Tacoma and Seattle), state transportation agencies, developers, cities, and major
utility and energy companies. High Desert’s current clients include cities, counties,
land development, and title companies. The use of information technology and applied GIS solutions in business has been growing at a fast rate as businesses seek “better information for better decisions”.
