Geographic Data Technology, Inc., a developer of premier map databases, announced that it has been awarded certification to the International Organization of Standardization ISO 9001:2000 standard. GDT has achieved this certification from National Quality Assurance, stating that GDT’s quality management system has been assessed and approved against the quality management system standard ISO 9001:2000. The Lebanon, New Hampshire facility was granted certification after a thorough evaluation of the auditors’ report from an audit in September by NQA’s review board. “This is an important milestone for our company. It provides evidence of GDT’s commitment to having quality standards in place that allow us to provide our customers with comprehensive and reliable map data,” stated GDT Quality Director Tom Gilligan. ISO is a network of the national standards institutes from more than 140 countries working in partnership with international organizations, governments, industry, business and consumer representatives. GDT’s ISO 9001:2000 certification, a two-year process, has been a company-wide effort to identify, develop and execute a quality management system that will serve as a guide to continuously improve services and products.
