US: Search and discovery based mobile app called Foursquare has found a new CEO in the form of Jeff Glueck. Until now, he was operating as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Foursquare. Meanwhile, Jeff’s predecessor and Foursquare’s co-founder Dennis Crowley is appointed as the executive chairman.
It is a noteworthy fact that Foursquare was first to introduce the built location service feature to its platform. But since the world of social networking is brutal, the company is facing crisis of failing to add more users to its database and retaining those already existing. At such time, the announcement is being seen as a step to revive Foursquare in the face of Facebook and Instagram that added built location services to their own apps later on.
