Kenya: Spatial Dimension bagged a contract by the Kenyan Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources to implement FlexiCadastre as Kenya’s new computerised Mining Cadastre System.
The new system aims to improve transparency and security of tenure; increase accessibility of information to private sector investors including small-scale miners and ensure standardisation and uniformity of mineral licensing procedures. It will allow for the efficient and reliable management of mineral rights for the benefit of all stakeholders, including the people and Government of Kenya.
“Kenya now joins Mozambique, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia in using FlexiCadastre to manage their mineral resources in a responsible and transparent fashion. Together with our partners, MTL Consulting (Tanzania) and Esri-Eastern Africa (Kenya), we are looking forward to another successful project,” said Mr Bill Feast, Managing Director of Spatial Dimension.
