Germany: Dr. Angelika Niebler, a member of the European Parliament, recently visited European Space Imaging in Munich. The high-resolution satellite imagery provider is known to support programmes of the European Commission and the European Council. During her visit, Dr. Niebler was mainly interested in understanding how Europe is using optical satellite images taken from around 700 kilometers above the earth. The Member of Parliament also discussed the direction and the future of developments in the satellite imagery market. European Space Imaging has partnered with DigitalGlobe and the German Aerospace Center to operate a local ground station, and receive timely images of Europe and North Africa.
