US: DronecloudTM, the drone management software company, has announced that LAANC (Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability) is now available for free in all subscription levels.

The DronecloudTM platform is a leading all in one business and compliance solution for drone operations capable of managing all aspects of drone operation. Integrating all the elements necessary from client communications and CRM to flight planning.

During the flight planning phase of the workflow, users can assess if LAANC is required then make a pre-flight request or make a real-time request for authorization when in the field.

DronecloudTM produces a record within the job and will automatically generate a regulation-compliant audit trail from the moment a user or their client commissions work, guiding the user through a step by step process.

What is LAANC?

LAANC automates the application and approval process for airspace authorizations. Through automated applications. The LAANC capability is available to pilots operating under the Small UAS Rule Part 107, OR under the exception for Recreational Flyers. Requests are checked against multiple airspace data sources in the FAA UAS Data Exchange such as UAS Facility Maps, Special Use Airspace data, Airports and Airspace Classes, as well as Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) and Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs). If approved, pilots can receive their authorization in near-real-time.
