CeBIT: Hannover, Germany: deCarta, the supplier of software and services for the Location-Based Services (LBS) industry, announced its real-time, two-way European connected navigation solution for next-generation personal navigation devices and smartphones. The software and service will be available to consumer brands, automotive OEMs, in-vehicle service providers, mobile network providers and handset manufacturers from the end of March 2009.
At CeBIT, deCarta will also be introducing its new NavSearch API connected navigation software platform, reference architecture and selected applications. deCarta’s new NavSearch API extends the CNAV service by providing highly relevant search results specifically for mobile and driver users. NavSearch API is a dramatic improvement over most local search offers currently available which use a simple “Point and Radius” search. These often give results that the driver has already passed or are hard to drive to.
deCarta’s CNAV service provides the core technology to allow consumer electronics companies to quickly bring new products to market. The complete service includes customisable navigation software for mobile devices (SatNav or other Mobile Internet Devices); hosted servers which manage delivery of traffic solutions and other relevant content, and the wireless connectivity to connect these two. The service enables customers to build new revenue opportunities by quickly bringing to market a premium connected navigation device with superior, consumer-relevant location-aware capabilities including:
