Crowd-sourced map to help Chennai

< 1 Minute Read

India: Life in the Indian metro of Chennai has come to a standstill as the city faces one of the wettest monsoons of the century. But, since there is no official data available to identify which parts of the city were most affected, a crowd-sourced effort has come up with a digital map of the city to help the people. This map uses OpenStreetMap data and shows flooded streets, vulnerable and inundated areas and the way to the nearest relief camps. Currently, the map shows over 5,000 inundated roads.
