City of Huntington Beach to Deploy Public Safety Solution

Intergraph Public Safety (IPS) announced that the City of Huntington Beach, California signed a contract for the implementation of a fully integrated, state-of-the art computer aided dispatch (CAD), police records management system (RMS), and automated field reporting (AFR) solution. The contract award is valued at $2.1 million (US). A primary goal of the Huntington Beach Police Department was to procure a complete and robust CAD and RMS solution capable of meeting the needs of the Police Department over the next seven to ten years. The IPS solution meets the requirements of this goal, as well as providing a technologically advanced system that will increase reliability and effectiveness. The Huntington Beach Police Department patrols an area of 25 square miles and receives on average 600 calls for service a day. Internationally known as “Surf City,” the City’s population is approximately 200,000 with a daytime population exceeding 500,000.
