China to transfer BeiDou tech to Iran

< 1 Minute Read

Tehran: China and Iran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, under which China will establish BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) ground stations in Iran. Iran Electronics Industries, which is the largest electronic conglomerate in the country, will do space data collection. What’s important to note here is that as a country possessing the GPS technology, the United States had prohibited Iran’s access to high-precision services. However, with China transferring Beidou BDS technology to Iran, the county can now enjoy such services and develop its navigation technology.
