China: The National Geographic Information Bureau of China will develop a comprehensive digital database for nine smart cities.
The smart city information cloud will include Taiyuan, Guangzhou, Xuzhou, Linyi, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan, Wuxi and Zibo. The bureau aims at completing the task by the end of 2015. The digital database will be used to gradually improve the infrastructure in these cities. It will include economic restructuring, urban management, public services etc.
According to Digital City Geospatial framework, the goal is to have over 333 prefecture-level cities and county-level cities covered under the the digital cities project by end of 2015.
