ESRI announced that Charles University of Prague is the first university within the Czech Republic to sign an Institute of Higher Education Master Site License Agreement with ESRI for its GIS software. Both ESRI President Jack Dangermond and Stanislav Å tech, vice chancellor for Development at Charles University, were present at the ceremonial signing.
The agreement allows the university unlimited purchases of the entire complement of ESRI’s ArcGIS software at a special educational rate.
At present, GIS is used primarily at the university’s faculty of natural sciences. However, with the site license agreement, students and their professors at the faculty of mathematics and physics will soon have access to ESRI’s GIS.
