Why Earn Certification in the GEOINT Field?
The goal of USGIF’s Certified GEOINT Professional program is to provide a foundation on which GEOINT professionals can certify the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to meet the duties and responsibilities within the multi-faceted GEOINT tradecraft. Moreover, the program provides personnel a means to grow in their profession as GEOINT tools, technologies, and systems change.
The CGP program advances the GEOINT discipline by setting standards for the profession, providing a means for organizations to identify and develop qualified GEOINT professionals, contributing to the career success and continued competence of GEOINT professionals, and improving the credibility and visibility of the GEOINT profession.
“The CGP program is the culmination of years of hard work from professionals across the GEOINT industry and represents a key step in a globally recognized profession,” said Lisa Spuria, co-chair of USGIF’s Certification Governance Board. “The application of GEOINT has generated a high demand for GEOINT trained and certified experts. GEOINT professionals will see strong career growth opportunities as they assist traditional and new industries in the application of new GEOINT technology and data.”
