California to use GPS to monitor sex-offender parolees

< 1 Minute Read

A bill passed recently by the State Legislature will allow the state to use GPS monitors to make sure a parolee stays where he or she is supposed to be and doesn’t wander or sneak into a restricted area. California’s current monitoring system requires the subject to remain near a home telephone for periodic checks, but otherwise can’t maintain a 24-hour vigil.
