Brabys Maps adds aerial photographs to its library

South Africa, 30 March 2007: The online mapping system from Brabys Maps has been enhanced with the addition of aerial images to complement the existing street map mode.

After a need was identified for the application of multiple date sources, Brabys Maps subsidiary Always Active Technology (AAT) developed the system over two years and it is now being implemented on its website brabysmaps.co.za.

“The development of the mapping technology was born out of the need to integrate GIS mapping and directories along with the advertising model. We searched the world for software to do just that and we found that GIS packages were expensive and none of them could meet our needs.

“While the internet is exploding once again, the amount of data is overwhelming and the mapping system we have developed is a window into geographically based information,” Rob Fisher, chairman of AAT, said.
