05 October 2006 – Bentley has released Version 8 of the speedikon/Architectural and speedikon/Industrial product lines. The new version continues support for AutoCAD and is now fully integrated with MicroStation V8 XM Edition.
Organizations will find the transition to MicroStation V8 XM Edition easy. An intuitive new interface places new features within reach of the user, and an unchanged DGN file format and full support for existing V8 standards allow projects to proceed uninterrupted.
Powerful innovations in MicroStation V8 XM include reference enhancements, element templates, ProjectWise StartPoint, link sets, DirectX graphics system, element transparency and display priority, keyboard position assignments, 3D modeling advancements, visualization and animation improvements, Microsoft Designed for XP Logo Compliance, and much more.
While AutoCAD-based users of speedikon will not gain the many features of MicroStation V8 XM, they will benefit from all the latest enhancements within speedikon. These architectural capabilities are available on both platforms. speedikon V8 also provides enhanced support for AutoCAD, including support for hatches with display filters.
