Azerbaijan: Former Soviet Republic Azerbaijan has put its Positioning Observation System into commercial use. The State Committee on Property Issues reports that connection of public and private organizations and companies to the system is carried out on the basis of appeals to Kadastr vษ™ Yer QuruluลŸu Layihษ™ Tษ™dqiqat Mษ™rkษ™z (Design Research Centre for Cadastre & Land Management), the operator of Azerbaijan Positioning Observation System (AZPOS).

Due to 37 stations the AZPOS system is fully functional and allows specifying and controlling the tie-in of immovable property on the ground. The Committee believes the connection to the system will be useful for companies conducting surveying and field measuring work, using roads and railways, water and sewer, oil and gas pipelines. When working AZPOS uses global positioning systems GPS and GLONASS, and European satellite network Galileo.
