Brasilia, Brazil, January 22, 2014 – Stations of Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS, the acronym in Russian), equal the installed at the University of Brasilia (UNB) since 2014 can be deployed throughout the year in Nicaragua.
The subject was one of the topics covered on 19 January 2015 during the visit of President of the Russian Senate, Valentina Matvienko,to the country, reported the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos).
The Glonass is equivalent to the Global Positioning System (GPS, for its acronym in English) of the United States. In operation since 1993, the system has 24 satellites in operation today.
Besides Nicaragua, Mexico has also proved interested in installing the system receiving stations.
