We are very pleased to announce that Mr. Alexander Wiechert has taken over the position of Managing Director of Vexcel Imaging GmbH, Graz, effective since 15th of January. Alexander Wiechert replaces the Vexcel founder and Vexcel Imaging CEO, Franz Leberl, who recently retired.
Alexander brings with him more than 15 years of experience in various management functions. He has a wealth of experience in the aerial imaging and surveying industry and is well known and well accepted in the industry. He will be responsible for overseeing business operations in Graz, camera sales outside of North America and Japan, support, manufacturing and finance. He will have a key role in continuing the strong momentum we have with the UltraCam family of products and making our roadmap for new products a success.
Before joining Microsoft Photogrammetry, Alexander was the Managing Partner of TopoSys GmbH, a company developing, manufacturing and operating airborne LiDAR sensor systems. He has successfully built up the business area of world-wide airborne sensor sales. In this role, he acquired a detailed knowledge of the technology, of the global sensor market and of LiDAR and photogrammetry. Prior to this, he founded and built his own company AIS GmbH, which developed and sold complex telematic systems. Before that, Alexander was working for DaimlerChrysler and was responsible for the development of new civil avionics systems. Alexander is a degreed engineer of aerospace and aeronautics and holds an additional degree in business administration.
