Angola: The Central Bureau of the Census (GCC) is deploying working teams to update Angola’s mapping, under the Census of Population and Housing, set for May 2014.
After the completion of the draft of cartography census in the northern provinces of Kwanza Norte and Bengo, GCC moved these working teams to Malanje and Uige (north).
In its press release, sent to ANGOP, the GCC says that in other provinces, with more or less difficulty due to difficult access caused by the rains, the process runs smoothly nationwide.
“In Viana district, Luanda, the process started last October 10 and will extend to 35 days, while in Cacuaco the workers began the task on 9 November, for a 20-day period”, reads the document.
According to GCC, in Luanda the work is secured by 22 teams (each consisting of four members and one supervisor).
In Malanje the work started on 19 this month and is being carried out in Kalandula district.
“Similar action are taking place in the districts of Cassongue, Lubalo, Dala, Cubal and Matala, in the provinces of Kwanza Sul, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Benguela and Huíla, respectively”, stressed the document.
Other localities based in the provinces of Bié, Huambo, Namibe, Cunene, Moxico, Kuando Kubango, Cabinda, Uíge and Zaire, also benefit from the process.
