Amazon has launched its first wearable fitness monitoring device, a wristband called Amazon Halo. The new Amazon Halo which is a sensor-embedded wristband, can track a userโs skin temperature, heart rate, fitness activity, mental stress level and quality of sleep.
The wristband will reward user points based on their weekly activity level and deduct points for hours spent being sedentary.ย It is inclusive of computer vision technology for measuring a userโs body fat percentage.ย Additionally, the deviceโs built-in AI and two microphones will be able to analyze a userโs tone of voice and assess their emotional well-being while interacting with other people.
Amazon Halo and its accompanying app is currently only available for pre-order to U.S.-based consumers for aย $64.99 six-month membership fee.ย A six-month Halo membership will normally be priced at $99.99, then renews at $3.99 per month after six months.
