UK: A locally produced Ordnance Survey Map has won international recognition at a gala dinner held in Belfast. The Lough Erne Activity Map, produced by Land and Property Services (LPS), received a Gold Award at the International Map Trader Association Dinner.
The ‘Best Folded Map’ Gold Award was presented to LPS for the map that caters for outdoor enthusiasts visiting the county.
“A unique and important safety feature of the map is the inclusion of every marker buoy on the Lough to assist anyone navigating the Lough itself. This feature was captured in collaboration with Waterways Ireland, using the latest Global Positioning Satellite Technology (GPS).”
The Lough Erne Activity Map is one of a series of five activity maps produced under the banner ‘Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland’. Other maps in the series are the Glens of Antrim, the Sperrins, Strangford Lough and the Mournes.
