14 Companies Selected to Build the Future of the Moon

DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) announced the selection of 14 companies to participate in the LunA-10 Capability Study. This seven-month study aims to assess the potential of these companies to contribute to the development of a sustainable and scalable lunar infrastructure within the next 10 years.

The study will explore concepts for sustainable lunar infrastructure,ย including resource extraction,ย in-situ manufacturing,ย and robotic construction.

The goal of LunA-10 is to lay the groundwork for a future human presence on the moon.

โ€œLunA-10 has the potential to upend how the civil space community thinks about spurring widespread commercial activity on and around the Moon within the next 10 years,โ€ Michael Nayak, DARPA program manager for LunA-10, said in a statement.

The 14 companies selected are Blue Origin, CisLunar Industries, Crescent Space Services LLC, Fibertek, Inc. Firefly Aerospace, GITAI, Helios, Honeybee Robotics, ICON, Nokia of America, Northrop Grumman, Redwire Corporation, Sierra Space, SpaceX.
