Utility & Network Summit

Theme: Digital Twins and Geospatial Intelligence for Smart Power and Telecom Networks

24-25 APRIL 2025 Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hall - Potsdam

Concept Note

Geospatial World Forum 2025 will host a two-day Utility and Network Summit to promote and align advanced digital technology prowess for economic empowerment. The focus will be on the increased use of clean energy sources through electrification and the development of smart and digital grid technologies in real-life scenarios. This summit will gather leading electricity distribution system operators (DSOs), national associations, policymakers, innovators, and investors to ensure the reliability of Europe’s electricity supply while enabling active consumer participation in our energy system.

The Utility and Network Summit themed Smart Energy Transition, will showcase the integration of spatial computing and digital twin technologies to optimize the reliability, security, and efficiency of electricity supply. By leveraging advanced technologies—such as sensors, intelligent software, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and digital twin models—participants will gain insights into creating interactive virtual environments. These environments will represent various industrial operations and utility management scenarios, allowing for more precise planning, monitoring, and optimization of energy resources. This initiative aims to tackle the significant challenges associated with ambitious energy, climate, and security supply goals while fostering economic growth. The summit will guide EU research, demonstration, and innovation (RD&I), as well as policy and regulation, to support smart grid development for a sustainable energy system.
