Through most of his 40-year illustrious career General Hasnain has served in turbulent environment and hot spots. From Sri Lanka to Siachen Glacier, from the North East to Jammu & Kashmir, and in UN operations from Mozambique to Rwanda, he has seen it all in crucial appointments. He served seven tours in J&K, decorated in almost all of them and knows the J&K conflict comprehensively. He is one the most decorated Indian Army Officers. He commanded the Indian Army's Srinagar based 15 Corps and 21 Corps. Lt Gen Hasnain is Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir and he is also the Member of the Executive Council of the Prime Minister's Library and Museum. General Hasnain was appointed Member of NDMA. before he assumed office as the Hon'ble Governor of Bihar, marking the culmination of his distinguished career in public service and leadership.
