ISpA was created on directions of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to be the premier Space Industry Association which acts as an independent and “single-window” agency to be the collective voice of the Space industry. While performing an all-encompassing role for all activities covering the entire Space Domain, ISpA has been actively working with Government for enabling the opening up of the space sector to both start-ups and the private sector. It undertakes policy advocacy and engages with all stakeholders in the Indian space domain, including the government and its agencies, to make India self-reliant and technologically advanced to enable India to become a leading player in the global space arena. A special focus of ISpA includes interfacing with Defence and Strategic Domain organizations to understand their needs, sensitize them about emerging technology and work towards developing Dual-Use Technology which meets both Defence as well as Commercial requirements.
Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE) is the only establishment of its kind in DRDO to provide cutting edge terrain intelligent solutions to the Armed Forces. DGRE has its headquarters at Chandigarh and is a new establishment formed with merger of two premier DRDO labs viz. Snow & Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE) Chandigarh and Defence Terrain Research Laboratory (DTRL) Delhi. DGRE K under the administrative control of Armament & Combat Engineering Cluster of DRDO and has been raised on 15 Nov 2020.
The vision of the new establishment DGRE is "To be a leader in the development of critical technologies for enhancing combat effectiveness with a focus on terrain & avalanches". The role and charter of the establishment is mapping, forecasting, monitoring, control and mitigation of landslides and avalanches in Indian Himalayas.
Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE) has a mandate to ensure safe mobility of troops in inhospitable terrains and also to focus on military potential of various types of terrains based on modern techniques of terrain evaluation.
SatCom Industry Association (SIA-India) is a not-for-profit body created to represent the interests of the satellite communication ecosystem in India.

Military Survey is the nodal agency with regard to dealing with geospatial technology and its applications for defence sector. Military Survey is required to meet mapping requirements of the Army, Navy and the Air Force. It also provides maps to the Para Military Forces, Central Armed Police Forces and Police units on demand from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Survey of India, The National Survey and Mapping Organisation of the country under the Department of Science & Technology, is the oldest scientific department of The Government of India. It was set up in 1767 and has evolved rich traditions over the years. In its assigned role as the nation's Principal Mapping Agency, Survey of India bears a special responsibility to ensure that the country's domain is explored and mapped suitably, provide base maps for expeditious and integrated development and ensure that all resources contribute with their full measure to the progress, prosperity and security of our country now and for generations to come.
