Using this service, you can purchase T-shirts and smartphone cases, with satellite images of your favorite places printed on them. At this point of time, the satellite images are only available from Japan, and there are plans to expand to global data sets.

How to order satellite image T-Shirts?

To use this service, you can go to wearyouare.jp from your smartphone or PC and allow the browser to use your current location. As this service is currently only available for Japan, it would through up an error for location. So, I suggest using the search function to look for a favorite place all over Japan.

Once you do that, you can add your own text message on the shirt, and adjust the color to match your needs. Once you are satisfied, you can proceed to the checkout page, where you can select options like printing on one side/ both sides and selecting T-shirt size; or selecting a mobile cover case.

The two-sided T-Shirts are typically priced at ¥ 4,500 or USD 40 and the smart mobile cover cases are priced at ¥ 2,800 or USD 25.

During a recent flooding on the Japanese island of Kyushu, Where You Are team has undertaken a unique charity initiative. Immediately after the flood event, their team activated the special site for donation to the affected area.

Users were able to donate in 2ways,

1) buy a pre-designed T-shirt or
2) buy an original shirt with a tweet #九州北部災害チャリティ (Meaning #KyushuNorthernDisasterCharity)

For each order, the team donated 1,500 JPY to the affected people (via Japan Red Cross).
