Dutch company provides insight into coronavirus with geographical dashboards.Everyone wants to know how many infections have now been reported in their own environment. That’s why the geographical dashboards are currently going viral on social media. Esri Nederland updates the information every day. This takes place immediately after the official source, Dutch health organization RIVM, published the figures. The map currently shows that COVID-19 hits southern municipalities in Noord-Brabant harder than Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe up north. No infections are even known on the Wadden Islands. By making this map, Esri Nederland wants to help the safety regions, health care organization GGZ, RIVM and other organizations. In short: everyone involved in the virus to map out and provide insight into the spread and the necessary measures. The dashboard includes many other COVID-19 related interactive maps.

Esri Disaster Response Program

This effort from Esri is part of Esri’s Disaster Response Program. A team of GIS experts is also active in the Netherlands. These are professionals who are ready to help organizations with all information related to the spread of the virus and to map its impact. In addition to information about the spread of COVID-19 in the Netherlands, its American parent company Esri has helped numerous governments and bodies around the world (including the World Health Organization) to develop corona related geographical dashboards. They show the infections, the number of deaths and cures per country. For example, there is a dashboard from John Hopkins University in collaboration with Esri that keeps track of the number of infections, deaths and cures per country.
