GLS-2200 – a multiple range laser scanner for higher accuracy

The Topcon GLS-2200 offers quick, simple and effective ways of capturing 3D point cloud data at high speed without compromising the accuracy desired by todayโ€™s professionals. GLS-2200 also supports surveyor-friendly Resection and Occupation Backsight registrations, which are similar to Total Stations. It also supports various registration methods for registering the point cloud data from various scan locations.

With GLS-2200, scanning is possible even up to 500m away. When using in a wide area site, longer target scan capabilities of up to 200m ensures that the number of target movements is significantly reduced, and so is the amount of work. With this scanner, measurement starts immediately, without changing the orientation of the prism when moving the instrument point, resulting in faster measurement time. GLS-2200 has a special scanning mode which allows better scanning of roads with low reflectance and ensures a surface accuracy of 1 mm. Further, it corresponds to the measurement of the finished shape of the pavement in i-Construction.

Rithm

The Rithm software, which is directly integrated with Autodesk Navisworks, performs Floor Flatness and Levelness (FF/FL) analysis directly from scan data loaded into Navisworks in near real-time while the concrete is still wet. It provides robust insights of flooring deviations with heat maps, contours and monitoring points, which can be exported back to the coordination model in Navisworks and shared with multiple users.

With the help of Rithm, one can analyze flooring deviations, obtain ASTM E1155 compliant reports in minutes, reduce rework costs by analyzing wet concrete, visualize flooring deviation, check beam camber and monitor for changes after concrete is poured, and ensure that ramp slopes comply with ADA guidelines. The software further frees project managers from involving third-party contractors for FF/FL analysis, thereby ensuring reduced cost and time spent on the project.
