Based on definition, an Atlas is a number of maps combined in the form of a book. Even experts say that atlases are generally considered a higher form of cartography, as in their production line there is both an extra planning and an extra structural dimension. One of interesting publication called ‘Bali from Space’ is considered as an atlas product or not. Even this document was published by Centre for Nasional Atlas, the National Coordinating Agency for Surveys and Mapping (BAKOSURTANAL). It is required to justify whether this is categorized as Atlas or not according to cartographic point of view. This overview is to observe a little bit whether is typical publication is suited for map related products or even in space or images products. Some comments on design, definition, usefulness and even a possible overlapping activities may also be evaluated in this paper.
