Call for Papers for Early-Career Scholars Institute in GIScience

< 1 Minute Read

The summer of 2015 marks the twenty-year anniversary of the International Early-Career Scholars Institutes in GIScience. The organizers and participants in those previous Institutes in co-sponsorship with the Vespucci Initiative invite a new generation of early-career GIScience scholars to with join us to explore Advancing Geographic Information Science: The Past and Next Twenty Years.

A maximum of 25 early-career scholars will be accepted for the conference based upon full-paper or extended abstract submissions. Full papers will be peer-reviewed and, if accepted for the Institute, will be conditionally accepted for inclusion in the book arising from the Institute. The deadline for submittal is 15 March 2015.

This is not your usual conference. The Institute is designed for maximum interaction in participatory research challenge discussions, presentations, projects, panels and cooperative and competitive research-focused activities. It will also engage participants in informal settings and outdoor opportunities to encourage extended discourse among early-career and senior scholar participants.
