Australia: The Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) has appointed Chris Malouf as the new general manager, replacing former CEO Roger Buckley. Malouf will be responsible for developing and achieving the SSSI strategic plan in conjunction with the Board and managing the external and internal operations of the SSSI. Chris has previously worked with CSIRO in a broad range of different roles including programme coordinator for the Australian Collaborative Land Evaluation Program, executive officer in CSIRO Land and Water, and program manager in the Water for a Healthy Country National Research Flagship. Other roles include former GIS manager in the former Australian Geological Survey Organisation (now Geosciences Australia) and former GIS officer at the National Resource Information Centre within the former Bureau of Resource Sciences.
