UK, October 8, 2014: Tekla and CSC, both Trimble companies, are combining their operations. As a result, UK-based CSC, acquired by Trimble in November 2013, will rebrand and operate under the name Tekla. CSC's structural engineering design solutions further strengthen Trimble’s offerings for the construction industry and complement Tekla’s portfolio, which cater to the structural engineering workflow.

“Development of CSC’s products will continue under the Tekla brand. Tekla offers investment capacity, technologies, industry expertise and support, which translate to even more innovative new products for structural engineering,” said Risto Räty, Executive Vice President of Tekla and General Manager of Trimble Buildings’ Structures Division.

Being committed to open BIM, Tekla develops products which support a large number of integrations of building information modelling and building and structural design solutions and also interface with fabrication machinery.

“CSC has a long history in the structural engineering software sector and is one of the leading brand for analysis and design (A&D) solutions, offering Fastrak and Orion for steel and concrete building design, Solve for FE analysis and Tedds for structural calculations,” said Barry Chapman, Engineering Segment Director of Tekla. “By joining our operations, Tekla now delivers innovative software for structural engineers covering analysis, design and BIM.”
