In recent years, autonomous delivery robots have become a common sight in the grocery industry. They are being used to automate the process of order fulfillment and delivery, saving time and labor costs for retailers while providing convenience for customers.
One such program is being carried out in the UK, where small robots are delivering goods to multiple households. The robot service was launched as a trial period for three months to serve around 20,000 residents in the suburb of Leeds. The Leeds City Council partnered with the Co-op and Starship Technologies to launch the project. These robots use a combination of sensors such as AI and ML to travel on sidewalks and navigate around obstacles.
