Society for Space Education, Research and Development (SSERD), a non-profit organization committed towards promoting space and STEM education around the world is celebrating ‘World Space Week 2020’ from October 4-10. The program aims to reach out to 1 million students through the 7 days online event.
World Space Week is a UN declared celebration of space held annually in the world, organized to create an awareness among people about the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition. The theme for World Space Week 2020 is “Satellites improve life”. The primary goals of the event are to provide unique leverage in space outreach and education, educate people around the world about the benefits that they receive from space, encourage greater use of space for sustainable economic development and most importantly excite young people about science, technology, engineering, and math.
To make the event more meaningful, SSERD invites geospatial experts to join them for a Guest talk (virtually) for 30 mins [25 minutes for the talk and 5 minutes for Q&A] on any day between October 5 to October 10, during 05:00 – 06:00 pm IST. Experts can share about their outstanding work in the field of Satellites and Satellite Applications, their journey, how is it benefitting the community, advise to students, etc.
