A high-performing surveying solution

2 Minutes Read

Trimble R12Efficiency, durability and technology sophistication are some of the attributes of a high quality GNSS receiver. Trimbleโ€™s R12 GNSS System, launched fairly recently, has all of that and a lot more. What distinguishes this high-performance surveying solution from other products is the presence of Trimble ProPointโ„ข GNSS technology that enables land surveyors to measure points in multiple places at an unprecedented scale. The device is a blessing especially for surveyors operating in hostile environments, as it reduces time and eliminates the need for technologies like total station.

Innovative tech at play

The R12 permits flexible signal management that helps diminish signal attenuation and provides an operation that is constellation agnostic. It also uses state-of-the-art technologies like Trimble SurePointโ„ข, which offers precise position capture with eBubble and compass-based tilt compensation. The device is also powered by CenterPointยฎ RTX Corrections technology that provides RTK-level precision worldwide without the need for a base station or VRS network. It has 672 channels with support for all available and future GNSS signals and provides improved protection from interference and spoofed signals.

The GNSS system provides better performance in urban ambience due to advanced signal filtering and error modeling protection against jamming. Working continuously in radio and cellular black spots, it also offers users the liberty to carry on surveying using a combination of GNSS constellations of their choice.

Covering all parameters

In concurrent testing along with Trimble R10-2, the receiver performed 30% better across all parameters โ€” precision levels, position accuracy and reliability. โ€œAs a leader in the field of GNSS technology and innovation, Trimble dedicated many years of intensive research into developing R12,โ€ says Ronald Bisio, Senior Vice-President, Trimble Geospatial. โ€œThis has culminated in a first-class solution, which enables our users to extend the reach of their systems to places where other RTK GNSS systems experience degraded performance,โ€ adds Bisio.

It is best to complement the Trimble R12 with a rugged Trimble field controller running Trimble Access 2019 field software for a complete workflow solution.
