In a recent announcement by Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions of US, it was stated that Intergraph has been selected by Teranet Inc. to supply land information management (LIM) solutions for the maintenance of Ontario’s four million parcels. Teranet, an e-service provider, is a one-stop source for assessment, ownership and crown parcel data for a growing number of municipal governments and provincial ministries and agencies, as well as a large number of commercial organizations.
Besides needing an efficient and highly-performance environment to handle large volumes of data, Teranet required open database and application technology that could be easily integrated with other corporate systems and business processes. The technology also needed to be customizable and extensible to meet specific requirements for today and the future. In choosing Intergraph’s GeoMedia solutions, Teranet, a long-time Intergraph customer, expects to reduce overall parcel maintenance and administration costs.
With the current acquisition, Intergraph technology will power an end-to-end solution for the access, management and maintenance of Teranet’s spatial data and products. Intergraph LIM solutions, based on GeoMedia, will provide an open technology environment with high-performance capabilities, including:
