LAND INFO International, LLC, has announced the release of Iraq Topographic Maps and Digital Elevation Models at new limited-time pricing. The digital maps are fully geo-referenced for Geographic Information System (GIS) integration. LAND INFO offers the maps in 1:100,000 and 1:200,000 scales. The Iraq datasets accompanies LAND INFO’s growing map archive that now exceeds 140 countries worldwide.
LAND INFO specializes in acquiring paper maps from in-country mapping agencies, the Russian Military Series, and other sources around the world. The full-color maps are then scanned at 400 dpi, cropped, and delivered geo-referenced in standard GIS formats. LAND INFO also utilizes the paper source maps to extract various map features, such as contour elevations, roads and waterways. These features are then converted to separate vector files for more focused GIS applications. LAND INFO’s production team also utilizes this topographic source data to produce digital elevation models (DEM).
