Safe Software Inc., the spatial ETL technologies firm of Canada, announced that the upcoming FME 2004 ICE release shall be available with an enhanced version of the FME Data Server for GeoMedia.
The FME Data Server for GeoMedia shows how spatial ETL and GIS complement each other to provide a complete spatial data solution. The FME Data Server for GeoMedia features new technological advancements such as advanced database support and caching technology to improve performance and optimize workflows, says the company’s release. It also provides GeoMedia users the ability to directly read over 110 formats and systems supported by FME including DB2, Geodatabase, SDE, PostGIS, many GML dialects, and MapInfo TAB.
Safe Software’s Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) is a Spatial ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) tool consisting of a translator, a transformation editor, and a viewer. FME Suite also includes developer tools and coordinate conversion support.
