The European Environment Agency (EEA) has recently announced the release of the 2015 version of the “Imperviousness”, “Forests”, “Grassland” and “Water & Wetness” High Resolution Layers (HRL). These HRLs are produced from satellite imagery and complement the Land cover / Land use information provided by the CORINE Land Cover (CLC) datasets.
Pan-European High Resolution Layers (HRL) provide information on specific land cover characteristics, and are complementary to land cover / land use mapping such as in the CORINE land cover (CLC) datasets. The HRLs are produced from satellite imagery through a combination of automatic processing and interactive rule-based classification.
